Celebrating huge win within LSP

Congratulations goes to our CEO Gavin Brown, for winning the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award, at the 2023 U Dine Awards ceremony, hosted at the East Midlands Conference Centre at the University of Nottingham.

On the evening of Wednesday 21st June, Gavin was presented with the U Dine Outstanding Achievement Award, by Celebrity Chef and Co-Presenter of Sunday Brunch, Simon Rimmer and Sarah Peters from the Institute of Hospitality.

This award was not listed in the awards shortlist and the recipient was chosen by the U Dine Awards Organising Committee.

Gavin Brown, LSP CEO said: “It is a great honour to receive this award from the U Dine network. To be recognised with this award win means a great deal, took me completely by surprise, and I was not prepared to receive the award from Simon Rimmer and give a receiving speech on the spot.”

He continued: “I’ve been in HE working in Universities for 25 years, including Executive Head Chef at the University of Nottingham and Head of Commercial Services at the University of Sheffield, to now CEO of Leicester Services Partnership, here at the University of Leicester. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot and put into practice, working along side skilled colleagues, past and present, whom many I consider very good lifelong friends.”

The U Dine Awards programme recognises and rewards University venues that excel in the innovative sector of the hospitality industry.

On the night, LSP were shortlisted in two categories:

– Plant Based Menu Award
– Marketing Campaign Award

In 2022, LSP won the U Dine Café Concept Award, based on the submission for our in-house Craft Coffee sold across all outlets at The University of Leicester.
